7th PRAGUE INTERNATIONAL HEALTH SUMMIT
23rd – 25th of September 2012 PRAGUE
Hotel Moevenpick Prague

MORE CONSUMER oriented healthcare
MORE MONEY for health

Consumer oriented healthcare is a precondition for financially sustainable healthcare systems

Why this Summit?
Organisation of the 7th PRAGUE INTERNATIONAL HEALTH SUMMIT is one of the key activities of CEE HPN in 2012.

Governments in Europe have to consolidate their budgets. Due to austerity packages in European countries, the expectations towards increasing public resources to healthcare may not be fullfilled.

To increase financial sustainability of healthcare systems, alternative financial resources have to be identified. These can be found among healthcare consumers. Asking consumers for more money requires to understand their preferences and the increased value of products and services.

The goal of the 7th Prague international Health Summit is to present innovative solutions in healthcare delivery as well as new financial arrangements to create value for consumers.

Consumers who are satisfied with the products and services provided have higher willingness to pay for them. Under consumerism we understand a concept where the healthcare industry respects the preferences of consumers, while these consumers accept their financial participation linked to the consumption of these products and services.

That is why more consumerism, means more money.

The goal of the 7th Prague Internation Health Summit is to:
  • Introduce consumerism as a basis for financial sustainability of the healthcare systems
  • Share best practices on consumer oriented healthcare solutions
  • Connect experts from all over the world with people from CEE
  • Share successful case studies from the Western world and the CEE countries
  • Attract healthcare decision-makers and policy-makers from the CEE region and show common willingness towards realistic changes in CEE healthcare systems
  • Introduce Strategic Scenarios 2020: The Future of CEE Healthcare

PRAGUE INTERNATIONAL HEALTH SUMMIT IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT ON HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS AND HEALTH POLICY IN CENTRAL EUROPE

7th edition
THE PRAGUE INTERNATIONAL HEALTH SUMMIT was held for the first time in 2004 as a project of the Governance Institute. This Institute, represented by Mr. James A. Rice, has been organizing a large international Summit with long and successful tradition under the same name in the USA. The Prague Summit was supposed to be a local stand-in for Central and Eastern Europe. The professional non-profit think-tank Reforma zdravotnictvi-forum.cz became the local partner. Since the second year the roles of the partners have changed. The main promoter and operator was Reforma zdravotnictvi-forum.cz and the Governance Institute became a program partner.
